Critical Pixels... huh?!

I don't claim to be a good writer or that insightful, but it does happen to be the two things that I really like doing. Hopefully we get to share some thoughts together around the crazy concept that is art.

Perhaps we'll be enlightened and less apathetic to crazy world we live in. Perhaps we'll go beyond reactionary responses and move towards active engagement with tough issues...

I'm crazy enough to think that part of the answer lies within ART...

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; Snatch...

Ok so I finally got around to watching Guy Ritchie's, "English Ganster Flicks".

With that said I reserve the right as an avid "watcher of movies" to let it be known that I really liked them.

I like the structure of his stories for one. The accidental way in which his characters seem to collide.

The Characters have heaps of character! It might just be the accents, but there's a freshness in the way the chracters come across which I really like.

The Cinematography is gooood. I enjoy the ability to appreciate a shot I had never seen before. By and large Ritchie makes use of standard camerawork, I mean there's only so many angles you can do without being over the top. But there those moments where the shot enhances the character, and he pulls it off really well.

Needless to say, I like gangster flicks period and this is no exception. Might do a Tarantino binge soon? But before that, I'll watch "Smokin' Aces". Yes, I'll do that now.
